Time to update the resume. The first piece I pitched and helped produced for PBS NewsHour Weekend has won an award! “GMO Battle on Kauai” won a National Headliner Award as the first-place winner in the ‘Broadcast or Cable Television Stations – Environmental Reporting’ category.
I must admit, it feels pretty great to be recognized for this story. There were times I thought for sure we had fallen down the rabbit hole with this one, but it turned out great. We have also submitted this piece to the News and Documentary Emmy Awards, which will be announced July 15th. So I’ll keep my fingers crossed, but it’s nice to know this one is in the bag!
