The Unintended Inmates

Back in 2007, hundreds of children, many as old as 12, 13 and 14, were found in Afghan prisons along with their incarcerated mothers. But today, there’s a special school and home for these children and Dan Rather Reports discovered that many of the children are flourishing under this new program.

What is the name of the organization providing support for these children in the US. Is their an organization in Washington DC? How could I learn more?
    Thank you for your time!

Hi Sally. Thanks for reaching out. If you are interested in learning more, the organization that helps run these schools in Afghanistan is called “Women for Afghan Women” and they have offices based in the U.S. You can learn more about them on their website: http://www.womenforafghanwomen.org/

    All the best,
    Tracy
